Hoʻokuaʻāina

In the ahupua‘a of Kailua, O‘ahu, Hoʻokuaʻāina restores loʻi kalo (traditional taro patches) in Maunawili while mentoring local youth through ‘āina-based education. Their name means "backbone of the land" — and that's exactly what they are: cultivating kalo, perpetuating Hawaiian culture, and bringing healing to people through a deep connection to the land.

Lāhainā Strong

Lāhainā Strong is a grassroots community movement rebuilding Lahaina for the people of Maui. From advocacy and community education to healing the land and supporting mental wellness, they're working toward a resilient, sustainable, and just future for Lāhainā and all of Hawai‘i.

Big Brothers Big Sisters Hawaiʻi

For over 60 years, Big Brothers Big Sisters Hawaiʻi has built one-to-one mentoring relationships that ignite the biggest possible futures for Hawai‘i's keiki. Their school- and community-based programs match young people across the islands with mentors who show up for them, year after year.
