How to Figure Out Her Bangle Size for a Gift (Without Asking)
Bangles make beautiful gifts, but they slide over the hand, so size matters. The good news: you can usually figure it out without spoiling the surprise, and if you guess wrong, the exchange is free.
1. Borrow a bangle she already wears
This is the most accurate method. Find a closed bangle she wears comfortably and wrap a piece of string around the inside edge. Mark where it meets, measure it flat with a ruler, and match that number to our size guide. Put the bangle back before she notices.
2. Ask someone who shops with her
A sister, mom or best friend may know her size, or can casually ask. If they wear bangles, compare hands: similar hands usually mean a similar size.
3. Compare her hand to yours
Hold hands and notice whether hers is smaller, about the same, or bigger than yours. Then measure your own hand: tuck your thumb into your palm and wrap a tape measure around the widest part. Adjust up or down from there.
4. Make it a game
"I bet my hand is bigger than yours" with a piece of string is an old trick, and it works.
5. If you truly have to guess
Lexi wears our Standard size (8 inches) in all of our photos, and it is a sensible middle starting point. If she has larger knuckles or prefers a looser fit, go up to 8.5 inches. If her hands are small and slim, our Petite size (7 to 7.5 inches) may be right. When in doubt between two sizes, size up: a slightly loose bangle is easier to wear than one that will not go over the hand.
